We are into the final days of the Terra Nova testing. We will receive results in a couple of months and will send home reports on each student’s performance.
The end of the first grading period is October 28. Report cards will be issued the following week and parent/teacher conferences will be held November 9 and 10. Please use the form in this week’s envelope to sign-up for a conference. This is an important opportunity to visit with the teachers and discuss the start of the school year. Please return the form by October 26 with your first and second choices marked for requested conference times.
Congratulations to the parishioners of Immaculate Conception, Holy Trinity, and Sacred Heart who are receiving the sacrament of Confirmation this Sunday at Immaculate Conception Church. Our prayers are with you.
The next Protecting God’s Children workshop will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday, October 25 at 6:00 pm. You can register on-line at www.virtus.org. Attendance at a Protecting God’s Children workshop is required of all school volunteers.
Thank you for your generosity for last week’s dress down day to benefit the victims of Hurricane Matthew. We raised more than $647. The money will be sent to the hurricane relief programs sponsored by Catholic Relief Services.
Grandparents Day and the Scholastic Book Fair are just around the corner. The book fair will be held October 24-28 from 12:00 to 3:0 pm each day. The book fair will also be open during Grandparents Day activities on October 26.
Thursday, October 27 is picture day for the pre-school class and retake day for everyone else. If you want a picture re-take, please bring in the original pictures on Thursday, the 27th.
Classroom Halloween parties will be held 1:15pm Friday, October 28 for students in K-6. The pre-school party will be held in the morning on the 28th. Pre-Kindergarten will celebrate Halloween on October 31.
Grandparents (or special friends) of TCCES students from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to join us October 26 to visit the school, listen to the kids sing a few songs, enjoy some refreshments, and spend some quality time with their grandchildren and friends. Students and grandparents are also invited to visit the Scholastic Book Fair in the school media center.
Grandparent Day activities will begin in the pre-kindergarten classroom. Grandparents and friends will participate in several activities with the students. Refreshments will be served and the book fair will be open.
Morning Class 9:45 to 10:45 am
Afternoon Class 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm
All Day Class Grandparents/friends may attend the morning or the afternoon program.
GRADES KINDERGARTEN THROUGH THREE
Grandparents are invited to join us for a performance by the children in the gymnasium at 1:00 pm. Please come directly to the gym. After the performance, we invite grandparents to visit the classrooms, enjoy some refreshments, and stop by the book fair. Students will be permitted to leave any time after 2:00 pm with the grandparents after signing out with the teacher.
GRADES FOUR THROUGH SIX
Grandparents are invited to arrive at 1:30 pm to visit the classrooms. At 1:45 pm, everyone will be invited to join us in the gymnasium for a performance by the students in grades 4, 5, and 6, and the Singing Saints. Refreshments will be served following the performance. Everyone is also invited to visit the book fair in the media center. If you have grandchildren in both age groups, you are welcome to watch both shows. Students will be dismissed following the show and refreshments.
